E-waste E-bike

This is NOT a working design. This is the initial mock up of a design, to determine how to make it modular, and adjustable. I'm uploading it as it is open source. And I want criticism. Intentions of the design: Adjustable for a variety of bikes. Modular enough that components can be swapped out easily with moderate redesign. The utilisation of common components discovered in E-waste to keep costs down. Possible to quickly remove from the bike when locking in public. Able to be built and used without the use of circuit boards. Elements that need development: Adjustable Idler arm on motor mounts for tensioning. Cog teeth interface. Low wear material for rollers. Throttle. Rigidity of the mount. I believe this list is in order of importance. If you solve 1 & 2, you would be able to make a working prototype, to test if it works. This is my intention for the next step. The throttle will be similar to a motorbike twist throttle. It will use switches for each motor. Position 1 will turn on one motor. Position 2 will turn on two. And so on. If you wish to collect materials for this design, I suggest keeping an eye out for portable power tools and appliances. Many of these are discarded when a circuit board dies, or they have a similar fault. Many have the motors that I modeled this around, as well as still useful 18650 cells, wires, and switches. Other hardware includes: M8x130mm bolts M8 nuts M5 nuts, bolts and washers. M3 nuts bolts and washers. Appropriate timing belts. OD16mm ID 8mm, length 5mm bearings. This list is not exhaustive, and can be adjusted to what you have if you modify the parts. With some modest redesign, you could use other sizes of hardware. Category: Automotive
