e-Nable - YuLia Custom hand

As part of the e-Nable project, I was tasked with designing a custom hand for a young girl in need who wouldn't benefit from standard e-Nable devices. I designed this model from scratch using Fusion360, and it's the 4th and final prototype currently being tested by Yu-Lia, its namesake. This design is based on the "pinch" motion, essential for good hand function. Although Yu-Lia has a functioning (though deformed) finger, which I incorporated into the design to serve as her index finger. The model was created using a 3D scan of her hand and built around it. The mechanics are similar to those in the raptor, but rely heavily on Yu-Lia's remaining finger movement, which essentially pulls the 3D printed thumb. This custom hand comes with three alternative tensioner links, providing different levels of leverage in the tensioning wire. These tensioner links and finger tips are connected using short pieces of 3mm filament. The fingers, while purely aesthetic, aren't necessary for the hand's functionality.
