E-Learning Modular Desk Organizer

For this challenge, I created a modular desktop organizer, to help students stay organized and adapt to the circumstances under virtual learning. Each of the different mods serve their own intended purpose, and they can be taken off, reattached to, and otherwise stored within the base with ease. The camera holder, shown on the front left of the base, can be used to hold the phone steady on a student's desk, or it can be taken out of the base and placed in the chrome book attachment, which allows students to secure their phones above the screens of their computers, and even adjust the angle of the camera if needed. The reminder cards, shown on the front right of the base, are to be used as a place for students to write down their homework assignments or schedules, depending on the mod being used, and this will help classmates to have an easy, accessible place to write down any important information, as staying organized has become an increasing problem with virtual learning. Finally, the pencil holder mods, shown on top of and within the pencil holder in the different views, are simply a fun way for students to personalize and adjust their organizers, depending on their own preferences or moods. Some issues that I came up against included time management and figuring out how to bring all of the different pieces into one cohesive project. I had so many ideas for the different mods, but I had to divide my time up wisely and make sure I could connect them all back to the base, for one final desktop organizer to submit as my project. If I could redesign this again, other than adding even more mods, I would probably extend the length of my base to create a singular storage section for the mods not being used. In my current design, the extra pieces each have their own designated storage space throughout the base, but to make my design cleaner, I would want one specific area to store everything. 3D printing would help strengthen my design for a multitude of reasons. Primarily, 3D printers offer a precision that handmade items simply cannot compare with, while still allowing designs to be shared across countries, for anyone to access and recreate. Also, with the nature of my design, 3D printing would be incredibly useful in the fact that anyone could print out their own mods to add on to their base, or I could even improve my existing mods. This process would be much more difficult without the technology of 3D printing.
