E-Bike Battery Box (18650 11S-5P)
thingiverse
The lipo battery I constructed in 2011 has finally given up after eight years of service. It began with a capacity of 10,000mAh but had dwindled down to just 5,000mAh and was visibly bloated. This led me to decide that it was time to build a new one using high-capacity 18650 batteries. The array consists of 55 cells configured in an 11S5P arrangement, providing a capacity of 13,000mAh and a peak current of 150A. I designed the box from PLA and printed it at 50% infill with three perimeters. A gasket made of TPU was also printed between the main box and cover to ensure a secure seal. To support the battery's weight of 3.5kg, I attached an aluminum plate just 2mm thick underneath. I successfully tested the battery on a hard track with a mountain bike without encountering any issues with the box itself.
