Watch the design process: https://vimeo.com/298490925\r\n3D files are blank, no name engraved ;)\r\n\r\nAs you may already know in Mexico we celebrate a tradition which consists in placing altars for our loved ones from October 30th to November 2nd, and though each object's significance may still elude you.\r\n\r\nThis is my rendition of the candy skull, traditionally made of sugar, chocolate, amaranth seed, and many other sweet treats.\r\nThese little skulls also known as "calaveritas" or "alfeñiques" are given as gifts between people, and you can add a name on the forehead, be it the person receiving the gift or a deceased loved one - if you're gifting with another's name, it simply shows respect.\r\n\r\nWe celebrate life, we mourn, we dance, we remember, and we show our love and respect.\r\n\r\nIn the altar and offerings, you'll find the deceased person's "calaverita" with their name, a gift of candy and food we offer to our relatives so when they visit from the afterlife, they can enjoy themselves.\r\n\r\nThis was created for my grandmother's altar, and though it's not made of candy, it's something I would have wanted her to have.\r\n\r\nRemember that death is a natural part of life.
