Dyson DC31 rigid extension tube connectors
thingiverse
To function like a DC35, Dyson DC31 extension parts require a donated tube; use a metal (outer diameter 28.7mm) or rigid plastic one. Attach a small spring (19mm high and 9.5mm in diameter) for the catch, found in this set: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=HP0638. It works fine with suction but use at your own risk; these parts can be utilized for other extensions or heads designs. The parts include a male, female, and catch; print in PLA with 50% fill for male and female, and 20% for the catch. Orienting the male and catch without supports is possible, while female requires support. Inserting the catch needs care: place it face down, insert spring, gently squeeze the pins together, then fit into the female part. Fix male and female parts to tube via an interference fit, which may need softening in boiling water.
