Dyne's Wanhao LED Bracket

This is a bracket that holds one or two 10mm diameter LEDs. It attaches in place of the stock part cooling fan using M3 screws and nuts. I eventually replaced my 10mm LED with a pair of standard 5mm LEDs, which requires the use of a spacer. The LEDs plug into a JST connector on the bracket. Creating Your Own Splitter If you can't find a DuPont style splitter and don't have any connectors lying around, a splitter can be created out of the solderless jumpers that are typically used on breadboards. You will need two male-to-male jumpers (preferably of different wire colors, like red and black), and one female-to-female jumper. Cut each jumper into two pieces and strip the insulation from the ends. Then, splice the wires together to create a Y-splitter. Solder the splices if possible, then insulate them with heat shrink tubing or electrical tape. Once you have your splitter, pair up the male connectors (one red and one black) and the female connectors. If your female wires are the same color, add some sort of visual indication to tell them apart. To use the splitter, plug it into the heat sink fan wire coming from the printer's cable chain. Then, connect the LED to the other end of the splitter. Make sure the LED is connected the right way around on both ends of the splitter, and test the polarity with a multimeter if necessary. Finally, use a zip tie or something to keep the wires under control.
