Dynamic Purge Bucket
thingiverse
Update: June 1st, 2020 - I've created a version that's compatible with the stock hotend for the Geetech A10M/A20M. I designed this purge bucket to shoot the purge material directly into a container on the side of my printer. To achieve this, I used a small torsion spring purchased from Amazon as the primary mechanism. The pivot axle and spring hub are secured with an M3 screw. This design accommodates 2mm thick silicone perfectly. To make room for the additional travel needed in the -X direction, I modified my X-Axis carriage to gain an extra 5mm of clearance (I'm using the Der Skorpion mount). The purge bucket features a Z-axis tuning adjustment screw that allows me to fine-tune my z-axis height with ease. However, supports are necessary for the purge wall itself. When printing the moving bucket, I chose not to include any supports. Additionally, I've included a template for cutting the silicone pad to size - note that I applied a small amount of hot glue over the small tabs of the silicone pad to keep it securely in place. This thing works flawlessly after thousands of tool changes, and it's still entertaining to watch it launch the purge ball into its target container.
