Dymaxion Map (Fuller Projection) ready for Laser
thingiverse
I'm putting a fresh spin on the Dymaxion Map by Gav. The two divided triangles have been stitched together, making it ready for cutting. The yellow and red lines are already cut, but countries require an engraved fill, while all other lines can be vector engraved. When importing into Illustrator, I had to scale this design down by around 12% to get the desired size. To make use of the 3D printed joints, the triangle tip should align with the middle of the screw holes, which is a 15mm measurement. Measure and adjust the scale accordingly. The CAM work was completed using the fantastic LaserWeb4 software, while cutting was done in LaserWeb3. This remix was created by Eric Gaba, a talented user from Wikimedia Commons known as Sting.
