Dymaxion Map (Fuller Projection) in 3D
thingiverse
W00t, my design took center stage on 'Tested'!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fef_lS6nm70. Please note that the original thingiverse object was created by me, but you may achieve better results with one of the three derivatives here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2497223https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2500971https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1995457. This project is a direct follow-up to my previous build on Platonic Solids and features an implementation of the Fuller Projection in 3D using 3D printed vertices and laser cut faces. Note that this design draws inspiration from the image here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dymaxion_map#/media/File:Fuller_projection_rotated.svg, which was created by Eric Gaba – a talented Wikimedia Commons user known as Sting.
