DXU - Dual Extrusion Upgrade for UM2+
cults3d
FEATURE This project transforms Ultimaker 2+ into a trustworthy dual extrusion printer. The approach draws upon the impressive effort everyone put into Mark2 for Ultimaker 2 and Ultimaker 3. The print head holds two hot ends, originally designed to be installed on standard UM2 heads for 1.75 filament. The right nozzle moves up and down, enabling nozzle swapping. This compact dual print head achieves a single extrusion print area of 220x223x205, and a dual extrusion print area of 184x223x200. The firmware is modified based on Mark2 version of Tinkergnome firmware, which was created by tinkergnome. CURA profiles are modified based on the Mark2 profiles developed by tinkergnome and foehnsturm. The Mark2Tweaks plugin for CURA, designed by Krys Lawrence, was also used.
