DX6i Gimbal Stick Protectors

DX6i Gimbal Stick Protectors

I wanted custom gimbal stick protectors for my trusty old DX6i radio controller, but I couldn't find one that met my needs in terms of design or style. Being a CAD designer by profession, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create my own solution. Since we shouldn't reinvent the wheel, I drew inspiration from ErgoFPV's Taranis M7/M9 "That doesn't fall off" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3191975), modified it slightly to fit Spektrum's DX6i, and voilà. As ErgoFPV aptly puts it, the protector secures on the bottom side of the gimbal stick end, which varies in height for every pilot. To cater to this issue, I've also included the CAD files for anyone struggling with their own sticks being different from mine. I made a pair for a friend, and they worked out perfectly for him as well, so I thought maybe someone else might appreciate them too. Enjoy! EDIT: I redesigned the outside ring lip to make it larger, ensuring successful prints without supports, which adds roughly a gram of material. However, I didn't include any extra CAD files for this update; if needed, please leave a comment. I'm grateful to ErgoFPV for their original design.
