The Rock? A Christmas Ornament?

So I wanted to try out Meshmixer for the first time and thought this would be a good start. This is 'Little Mitch' from Baywatch 2017, whilst the actual film was, erm. Yes. This little character addition was amusing.

The fingers and binoculars are delicate, a resin printer would be best. Or use super glue to strengthen that area as I did.

The full height of this model is 91mm. I have included a version with a hoop (to hang on a tree) and one without - you may need something like BlueTac to stick it down to a desk.

Don't forget to share a photo on here or use the hashtag #littlemitchmas on Instagram, so we can see all the Little Mitch ornaments in the world.

Credit for the original 'torso portion' and file is here: Rip Van Winkle's 3D model.

Credit for the original 'male legs'' can be found here: Orthovasky's 3D model. I merged the toes into more of a swimming shoe shape.

The original binoculars can be found here: Tahir Naeem's 3D model.

Happy Printing!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

**Rafts:** Yes
Supports:

Yes

**Resolution:** 0.10
Infill:

5%

**Filament:** [ Prusament ASA ](http://www.amazon.com/s?url=search-alias&field-keywords=Prusament++ASA&tag=thingiverse09-20) Black

Notes:

I printed this upside down, rotated along the X axis by 200 degrees. Almost on his head, so that the support material was mostly on his back. This way, it was easier to clean up after the print. A raft is needed because the surface area is so small and nobody wants to return to plastic spaghetti after a few hours.

Post-Printing ============= **Smoothy smooth.**

Also, I would have preferred to use ABS (lower cost) but I didn't have any but either way, acetone smoothing worked great.
A roll of kitchen paper, tucked on the inside edge of an air tight container, with a splash of high strength acetone, no heating needed. The kitchen paper absorbs the acetone to ensure the vapours surround the print more. Just make sure to rest your print on something that wont melt and keep the lid on.
Before acetone smoothing. I used some off-cuts of copper pipe to rest the print on.

After acetone smoothing!

Category: Sculptures
