This is the central figure in a two-week prototyping exercise I conducted alongside several classmates, with whom I spent the majority of my time working closely. I brought this character to life using edge modeling techniques, heavily reliant on Jana Sorge's (Instagram @mondkind.illustrations / Twitter @mondkind_dreams) comprehensive modeling sheet. The original mesh was expertly textured by Martin Janosik (@Moudin), but for the purpose of showcasing my work in a portfolio setting, I retextured it and equipped him with a new armament. The modeling process took approximately one full workday to complete, during which time I devoted two hours to unwrapping the mesh. Rigging and skinning proved to be equally time-consuming tasks, requiring nearly an entire day's worth of effort. Animations were incorporated into the project as supplementary elements during periods of downtime throughout the prototyping process. Throughout this endeavor, I utilized Blender 3D for modeling purposes and Autodesk Maya for rigging, skinning, and animation tasks. Substance Painter was my go-to tool for texturing the character. Those familiar with his repertoire may ask themselves if he dabs – rest assured that he indeed does so when executing a dash-based maneuver.
