DW Hobby Mini Eagle motor mount
thingiverse
This is a motor extension mount designed specifically for the Dancing Wings Hobby Mini Eagle 1200mm. The standard kit's motor mount, when installed according to the laser-cut parts, would sit too far back if followed as directed in the instructions. Instead of gluing the motor mount directly onto the foam, which would result in a weak joint as seen in YouTube videos where a single flight can cause it to break, this extension allows you to utilize the original motor mount while placing the motor in its correct position. Additionally, it features a 2.5 degree right and down thrust built-in, which is suggested in the latest revision of the manual. The motor fits perfectly with the recommended 2212 brushless outrunner, which has traditional 16/19 mm spacing for the mounting holes. Only the two 16 mm spaced holes are used for this mount. To secure the motor, you will need to use two M3 x 8 button head screws. The OpenSCAD source code is included so that you can modify the mount to accommodate other screw lengths if needed.
