DVD / CD stepper slider unit

Inspired by this innovative project: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1765496, I created a customized version from scratch on Onshape. I introduced an additional guiding rod to enhance precision. The moving component is now guided 100% along one rod and only 180° along the second, allowing for fine-tuning of printing tolerances by tightening it with a cable tie. To ensure smooth movement, I drilled 3mm holes in each guiding rod until they slid effortlessly. This design utilizes salvaged materials: 3mm guiding rods, stepper motors, and screws from old DVD drives. Two of these assemblies paired with a pen lifter (see below) form a complete CNC pen plotter showcased in a YouTube video. Designed in Onshape, the CAD source files are available at https://cad.onshape.com/document-redirect.html?d=/documents/506d71da1204693ca3d05ba2/w/effb6de1e347e385eb5360d2.
