I'm puzzled as to why Sony leaves out a lens hood with several models of their 4k video cameras - perhaps it's an aesthetic choice or they're concerned about vignetting when the BOSS system is pushed to its limits. Fortunately, there are aftermarket petal-style hoods available for purchase, but these don't leave much room for using the manual ring on the front of the camera. No problem, I decided to create my own solution. The filter thread becomes slightly tighter as you twist it onto place, allowing for a level fit that stays in position. To ensure no vignetting issues, I took extra care with the design. It's very simple to print this design in either orientation - no supports or rafts are required.
