Dutch Windmill

Dutch Windmill
This Dutch windmill has been designed for 3D printing on an FDM 3D printer without support material. Only the six RAILING parts require a small support pillar at one end. The BLADE parts can be printed flat and bent to any angle if printed in PLA by soaking them in 40°C water. This windmill is designed for motorization using a 12V DC motor available at Conrad or Aliexpress. Conrad link for DC motor: https://www.conrad.nl/nl/modelcraft-rb350200-0a101r-transmissiemotor-12v-dc-5-a-25-w-8-pole-50hz-parallel-shaft-24-vdc-12-vdc-1-phase-2500-rpm-3/45-0001 The 80mm cooling fan is optional but advisable when putting everything inside the windmill and can be connected directly to the 12V DC on the powersupply.
Upgrade to NEMA 17 Stepper Motor
You will need a NEMA 17 stepper motor with 200 steps/rev (0.8°/step - approx. 4kg.cm Torque), power supply 12V-1A, power supply 5V-1A, Arduino UNO, MAKEBLOCK 2H microstep driver and DIPswitch settings on the MAKEBLOCK 2H microstep driver. DIP switch explanation: (0.44 A current | half current at pause | 64 microsteps) You can use almost any stepperdriver that can be controlled with DIR and STEP signals from the Arduino, but cheaper ones like the Polulu A4988 or TI DRV8825 will not be capable of doing 64 microsteps.
Hooking things up electrically
Just hook up the steppermotor to the MAKEBLOCK H2 stepperdriver A+A-B+B- ports; adjust all DIP switches on the H2 driver and connect 12V to the DC+ and GND to the DC- on the H2 driver. Next, connect Digital OUT port 2 on the Arduino UNO to the DIR input of the H2 driver and connect Digital OUT port 3 on the Arduino UNO to the STEP input of the H2 driver. Finally, connect the Vin input of the Arduino UNO to the +5V of the powersupply and the GND of the Arduino UNO to the GND (or COM) of the powersupply. Alternatively, you could also use just a 12V powersupply and connect 12V to the jack power input plug on the Arduino.
Upload of "SOLID MODEL FOR SLA parts"
I have included a special SOLID MODEL version of the entire windmill consisting of only 5 parts that are specially redesigned for those who want to print this windmill on an SLA / DLP printer.
