A dustpan has three distinct forms. The first type is a listric appliance that helps to collect garbage. The second kind uses canes or peeled willow and bamboo sticks to scoop debris into the pan, known as Yang rice chaff apparatus. The third style resembles a fingerprint-shaped dustpan, with each person's unique fingerprints ensuring its distinctiveness. This dustpan features a closed circle in the center, often referred to as a 'bucket' in folk tales. If the opening extends beyond the pan, it imbues the dustpan and bucket with a mystical divination quality that has been passed down through folklore. Interestingly, the dustpan is also used symbolically in a folk tale about a poor man fighting against three and four, who sells tofu while offering a plate of snacks.
