DustLock - Woodworking Dust Collection Twist Lock Mechanism (4")

This is a two-part system for 4" dust collection found on most woodworking power tools. The pieces are easy to print and create a soft locking mechanism that allows you to quickly transfer from one tool to another but still get a positive attachment at each tool / station. For many home woodworkers, there's a need to move dust collection from tool to tool depending on what is in use. There are a lot of systems that make this easy and quick, but they can be expensive. This is a simple, and I think elegant, way to make something similar. You'll need to print: - a Hose Side Ring and Hose Side Insert, which will be attached to the 4" flexible dust hose that is attached to your collection system using a standard hose clamp. - as many Tool Side Rings as you need depending on the number of tools you need to connect to. (You might need one each for a tablesaw, planer, and jointer, for example). I attach these to the dust ports on the tools using #6 screws. Printing should be pretty straightforward, note that the Hose Side Ring does require supports, but the Tool Side Ring and Hose Side Insert do not. There are a couple of other parts I've included: - The Tool Side Ring (2.75in) can be used with smaller dust ports on certain machines. I currently have one on my router table extension. - The Makita LS1019L can be used for that Makita miter saw. My guess is that other Makita tools use a similar (potentially identical) size, but I can't verify that, so YMMV. This one needs supports for printing.
