Dust shoe with magnetic attachment
thingiverse
I designed a dust shoe with a swappable magnetic lower frame that's easy to attach and detach. I've also included a dxf file so you can optimize or customize the shape of the lower frame if needed. Your contributions, whether credits or remixes, are greatly appreciated! Here are the specifications for the upper frame: - It takes 6 neodym magnets that are 10mm high and 6mm in diameter. - The magnets attach to a 54mm diameter spindle shaft using a worm gear clamp that fits between 52-76mm. You can find this part here: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_dWopNKD - The upper frame also fits a 60mm dust collector hose, which you can purchase here: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_dUFtSi5 The specifications for the lower frames are: - They take 6 neodym magnets that are 4mm high and 6mm in diameter. - The brushed version of the lower frames comes with a brush that's either 70mm or 100mm tall. You can find this part here: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_dVTEPx3 To assemble the dust shoe: - First, glue the magnets to the upper frame and make sure all the magnets are polarized correctly. - Then, do the same with the lower frames, paying close attention to the polarity of each magnet. Disclaimer: While I haven't tested the aerodynamics of this design yet, the magnets provide enough power to hold the lower frames securely.
