Dust shoe Ratrig Killerbee 43mm spindle
thingiverse
This is a remix of the “Dust shoe Ratrig Killerbee 43mm spindle, 36mm and 50mm hose” by “DutchWoodworker”. I used this the original dustshoe by DutchWoodworker since I got my KillerBee about a year ago and it have been great. There are two changes in my remixed version compared to the original. 1) The magnets are 8x2mm and embedded in the print about 0.7mm below the surface. The reason I made this change is that I had problems with the magnets falling off. A really annoying problem that was easily solved by embedding the magnets in the print. The magnets I use are these: https://www.magnetz.dk/power-magnet-skive-8x2-mm They have a strength of approximately 1.1Kg. 2) I added a guide on the dustshoe to prevent sideways movement of the dustshoe when the spindle passes the edge of the stock. I have seen issues with the dustshoe being pulled off from the magnets and end up being jammed between the spindle mount and the stock. The remix only changes the holder part with the magnets and the dustshoe. The part of the holder that is attached to the spindle mount is (as far as I remember) unchanged. When printing the parts, pause the printer just before the layer covering the magnets. In my case this was at 3.92mm for the holder and 12.00mm for the dustshoe. Insert the magnets and continue printing. It might be a good idea to use a small piece of double stick tape for each magnet when placing them in the print, to avoid they jump out of the holes due to the magnet next to them.
