Dust shoe for Quiet Cut spindle upgrade for Shapeoko2 CNC router
thingiverse
Two piece dust shoe made specifically for the Shapeoko2 Quiet Cut upgrade spindle setup. Cut out using my CNC router and Plexiglas sheet, the design takes into account visibility while milling, with removable bottom part held together by magnets. For secure placement on the mill, I added an M3 hole to one side of the top section and screwed it down firmly. Fits tightly but could potentially come loose without this additional measure. Notice the second hole for attaching a vacuum; feel free to adjust the diameter according to your particular vacuum model - mine has a separate hose that fits snugly. Instructions: To create this dust shoe, mill a sheet of Plexiglas (PMMA) into two separate pieces. Install magnets into these pieces to keep them together while also making removal simple. Important note: You must either 3D print the lower part or mill it from both sides, requiring careful alignment. The bottom part has holes for magnets on one side and a raised ridge where you'll attach the brush on the other.
