Dust shoe for Makita Trim Router
thingiverse
This is a new version of my last model. Because of a bug in thingiverse, I had to delete and re-upload the model, however this version has some additions. CNC dust shoe for a Makita trim router. I saw many different designs and printed out a couple but none had the features that I wanted, so I borrowed ideas and designed my own. This design uses magnets to hold the brush up but also has some pins to prevent the brush from getting knocked off as the router travels over the hold-downs. The new version of this model now can support clips. The pins were not sufficient some of the time. The dust port is sized to fit a Rigid shop vac with a 20mm hose end. Rather than print the pins on the shoe, I opted to leave a few extra holes and print the pins separately. I did that to make printing easier and not require a ton of support. This also lets you decide which holes are magnets and which holes are pins. The magnets and pins are an interference fit and in my case it was not necessary to glue them. The brush material can be hot glued but I found that it was tight enough without doing so. Magnets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08M3YP56J Brush: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QPJYT75
