Dust seal for wood lathe

Hello, I own an AXMINSTER wood lathe with variomatic, i.e. with pulleys (on the motor shaft and on the spindle shaft) that you move with a lever to vary the spindle speed. This is an entry-level lathe model reserved for beginners even if this term is a bit arbitrary ;). The major disadvantage of this type of design is that after a while the dust generated by turning and especially sanding enters behind the cover that contains the mechanism where the pulleys + belt are located and consequently clusters on the axes and eventually block the translation of the pulleys. Result: no way to vary the speed and blocking. And if we force it there is a strong chance that the pulleys break (being made of cast aluminum "Zamak" they are relatively fragile) And we are numerous in this case. Just browse the web, read the testimonials of people who have replaced these pulleys or looking for spare parts. The solution -simple- and not expensive, but not provided by manufacturers and not anticipated by designers this type of machine, is to place a seal at the level of the cover to prevent waste (chips and dust) to enter this place. And it is rather very effective!!! So I designed this seal because I couldn't find one anywhere on the net. I printed it out of flexible filament. It is adaptable on all lathes of identical design to variomatic as long as the shape of the cover and positioning of the motor are the same, of course: AXMINSTER ; FARTOOLS ; LEMAN ; FOX ; MC850 ; HOLZSTAR ; BERNARDO, HLOZMANN... I leave it to you to check the compatibility with your model and you just have to download the file (or adapt it if needed). I designed it without the insertion slot because my modeling skills are still a bit young, so I cut this slot with a Dremel after printing. It's very clean, it holds well and above all, no more clumps of material blocking the mechanics!
