dust protector for sipeed 6+1 mic array
thingiverse
I acquired a Sipeed 6+1 mic array from Seeedstudio to experiment with embedded speech processing capabilities. To safeguard my MEMS microphones from dust, I designed a custom dust cover and 3D printed it. I covered the mic holes with a microfiber cloth, but any thin cloth or foam sheet should work just as well. The system remains unwired at this point, so I'm uncertain how the cover affects microphone sensitivity. The cover features two tabs that snap onto the PCB for secure fitment. I used clear PLA plastic to print the cover, allowing RGB LEDs to shine through from underneath. The current design has a minor flaw: it's not self-centering, but given its snug fit, this isn't a significant issue at present. If you'd like an improved version, please let me know and I'll attempt to redesign it accordingly.
