Dust Mask Exhalation Valve

Dust Mask Exhalation Valve

Wearing a mask can feel suffocating when there's no ventilation for carbon dioxide to escape. This issue becomes particularly troublesome when creating your own mask out of non-porous materials like solid plastics. I've created an in-breath valve that can be easily integrated into any existing mask, consisting of a compact valve body, a snap-on grate cap, and a locking ring for secure attachment on the back side of the valve. Simply drill or cut a 19mm opening in your mask, insert the valve, and snap the lock ring into place to complete the process. I've successfully tested this design using a hastily cut piece of paper as a makeshift valve, but it's recommended to use a more durable material like plastic or rubber for prolonged use.
