This is a dust cyclone for Electrolux vacuum cleaners (with upward facing hose connector). It uses a cyclone separation technique to separate most of the dust before it enters the vacuum cleaner. It works rather well, separates dust and hair very good. Gravel and larger pieces tend to swivel around inside and make some noise, but it can easily be pored into the bin by removing the cyclone adapter. About noise, yeah... lots of noise, swirling, howling, whining, rattling noise. :)

Be warned thou, this consists of several rather large and time consuming prints. The large bin uses almost all print volume on my Anet A6 printer 22x22x24 cm. Also the spiral adapter have really difficult support clean up.

Note that I haven't printed the lid yet, just tried it with a metal bowl as lid. And also the big bin was a failed print for me, so I had to reprint the leftover again and glue it in place so it looks a bit bad, but it works.

The bin has threads and is easy to remove from the spiral adapter by turning and lift out. The spiral adapter is also easy to remove by pushing a button then lift out. The adapter also fits the native snap in vacuum hose.

Fusion 360 file provided for the brave one.

Print Settings

Printer:

Anet A6

Rafts:

Yes

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2 mm

Infill:

30% triangle

Notes:

The bin probably needs a raft and support from base plate.
The spiral needs general support, add 1 layer solid support on base plate. Be gentle with the support infill percentage since it is rather difficult to remove inside. Note there is an added rim to get stable support all around up to the thread. The adapter needs general support with 1 layer solid support on the base plate. The lid needs support from base plate.
Post-Printing

Clean up the support, and glue the adapter to the spiral with superglue.

Category: Household
