Dust Collection Adapters
prusaprinters
I've struggled to connect several tools to my dust collector or shop vac. I've included several adapters that have worked great for me. Note: some parts should be printed out of TPU:Bosch GCM12SD Miter Saw - This saw has a goofy dust port that I've never liked and haven't been able to reliably connect anything to. I designed adapters to handle two scenarios: 1. connecting to a standard 2-1/2" shop vac hose, and 2. connecting to a 2-½" flexible dust hose.In either case, you will need to first print the file “MiterSaw-TPU Collar.3mf” out of TPU. This collar has openings that fit over the nubs on the saw's dust port. It fits tightly, so it will not come off.Connecting to a Shop Vac:Print the file “MiterSaw-Adapter to ShopVac.3mf” out of PLA, PETG, ABS, etc. The smaller end will slide into the TPU collar printed above. A standard 2-½" shop vac hose, like my Ridgid WD1450, will slide into the larger side of this adapter.Connecting to 2-1/2" flex hose:Print file “MiterSaw-Adapter to 2.5 Flex Hose.3mf”. Again, this will slide into the TPU collar, and a 2-½" flex hose will fit over the larger end with enough room to clamp it.NOTE: I planned to combine the adapters into one but couldn't maintain the wall thickness I wanted. Ridgid EB44242 Spindle/Belt Sander - I have 4" flexible hose running from a blast gate and happened to have a 4" to 3" adapter that I purchased long ago. I made a TPU collar that fits snugly over the dust port on the sander as well as the 4" to 3" adapter. SpindleSand-TPU_Collar.3mfNo supports required.
