Dust Chute for Delta Miter Saw
thingiverse
Dust shroud / dust chute replacement part for a Delta 3802L Type 1 (may also fit many Porter Cable brands). The piece guides sawdust and chips up into the dust collection hose. I couldn't find a replacement part online or from the manufacturer, so I made my own. This will allow full movement of the saw without interference. As of February 17th, 2017, it's only been in operation for about a week, so I'm still testing it. My OEM part shattered about a year ago and I've been doing without it, so I took good measurements and created a totally new version based on some paper models. This may not look like the original, but I think it does a better job. It was designed in Fusion 360 and I'll post some design files if you ask for them. You should be able to modify it easily for different versions of the saw. Update - October 2017: Still functioning perfectly! Showing no signs of wear, even when printed in PLA! Print Settings: Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: Prusa Mk2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2 Infill: N/A Notes: Turn object so it's on its side for easy printing. This should require little to no changes from default settings to print properly. The original is printed at 0.2mm layers, and when turned on its side, the layers align with the direction of chip and air flow, so you might be able to print with larger layers and have no difference in function. I would suggest printing it with a 6-wide perimeter. This part is currently made of PLA and works great.
