Dust Catch design for a Porter/Cable 680 and a standard 2.25"(5.715cm) Shop-Vac attachment
thingiverse
This is a dust catcher designed specifically for my home CNC router. I use a Porter/Cable 680 router paired with a Rigid 5HP shop vacuum system, and this is the initial version of the design, created with the hope that it may prove useful to others. Holes have been drilled for set-screws, enabling secure mounting to the router itself. A beneficial idea might be to fabricate a length of rubber to wrap around the internal circumference of the router attachment. This will improve adhesion and serve as a grommet, minimizing potential issues with dust escaping through the gap. I have also incorporated an additional hole into the shop vac attachment, specifically designed to accommodate a set-screw for enhanced security. My thought behind this decision is that if the vacuum hose proves too heavy and inadvertently dislodges the catch from the router, I can readily create a simple supplementary component to securely fasten it to the router mount. If such an occurrence arises, I will make sure to update the design model with the revised piece. Many thanks in advance for any potential uses or applications you may find for this design, and I hope you find it to your advantage.\nPrint Settings\nRafts: Don't Matter Supports: Yes Infill: I would suggest going 100% solid infill to ensure maximum stability during the printing process.
