Dusk Ball, with magnetic clasp (6th Gen)
thingiverse
This model of dusk ball with magnetic clasp draws inspiration from models featured in 6th gen 3DS games. To create this model for a 5th gen device, refer to http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1081593. Print all parts out first. Specifically, print two of the Dusk_BlackShell_6thGen.stl files – you will need one for the lid and one for the bottom shell. Since the lid pieces snap together really tightly, most likely no glue will be necessary. Once you assemble the lid and the bottom piece, glue the button and the ring to the bottom while ensuring the hinge is in place as you secure the ring down. Next, insert the hinge into the lid. Two magnets (1/4" X 1/16") are required for this model – simply glue them into place securely. A tip for assembling this dusk ball with magnetic clasp: print your bottom piece at a higher infill percentage (around 40-50%) and then print all other parts at an infill level of 5-10%. This will make the item more bottom-heavy and less prone to rolling around.
