Durango dash mount wedge for mounting a radio head or other uses
thingiverse
The 2001 Durango and other older models have a pronounced crevice that makes mounting accessories a challenge. This issue is resolved by using a wedge that fits seamlessly into the crevice, providing a flat surface for securing items in place. In my case, I needed to mount a DSTAR 880H ham transceiver head, which proved successful with this solution. However, I also considered utilizing double-sided tape to secure the wedge, thinking it would be sufficient given its relatively small size. Unfortunately, the radio head's weight was a deal-breaker for this approach. As a result, I had to drill two holes through the wedge and into the dash to ensure a stable installation. While this method works well for heavier items, double-sided tape might still be an option for lighter, smaller accessories.
