Durafly™ HyperBipe undercarriage support wall
thingiverse
The undercarriage support wall for the Durafly HyperBipe 900mm EPO can be found here: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__33470__Durafly_HyperBipe_900mm_EPO_PNF_.html. However, despite being a great model, when used with the pre-installed slot on the undercarriage, the Durafly HyperBipe's EPO foam behind it is prone to compression after a few hard landings. This compression causes the undercarriage to lose stability. This support wall helps prevent the foam from compressing. A chamfered edge is featured to make it easier to insert the support wall into the EPO foam. The instructions for assembling the support wall are as follows: First, print the support wall with ABS or PLA using an infill of 85-90%. The object itself is only 2mm thick, so this will minimize weight while maintaining rigidity. Use a hobby knife to cut out a 46mm long gap directly behind the pre-installed undercarriage slot. Be cautious not to cut into the slot's horizontal part, which extends about 14mm deep within the fuselage. Apply some ABS/PLA plastic and EPO friendly glue (such as Foam safe CA or Epoxy) into the newly made gap and on both sides of the support wall. Next, place the support wall in the middle of the fuselage behind the pre-installed undercarriage slot. Firmly push it into the gap until the top is flush with the surrounding area. Lastly, wipe away any excess glue that has accumulated or dripped into the pre-installed undercarriage slot.
