This box is specifically meant to hold Duracell **rechargeable** batteries, which are a hair thicker than your typical batteries. Like these: https://www.amazon.com/Duracell-Rechargeable-Batteries-all-purpose-household/dp/B000XSG300/ That said, other AA and AAA batteries will fit, but they'll be a little loosey-goosey in there. This was designed for optimum packing efficiency while still leaving room for walls for a .4mm nozzle to make. The tolerances for the lid are built-in, so it should print and fit well if your printer is dialed in at least as good as mine (which is to say, not very). When I get better at OpenSCAD I'd like to make an infinitely customizable one of these. In the meantime, let me know if you would like different sized holes. The number of holes (12), sadly, is fixed.
