DUPLO train compatible electric locomotive
thingiverse
Print gears, wheels, train body. Two bars provide engine mount support; they can be cut out inside the body without additional support needed. Gears and wheels require support or opt for a version with simple support. All gears click into place within the train's design. Insert a simple DC6V engine with a 2mm shaft, measuring (WxHxL) 20x15x25mm. A 15mm rubber ring may be glued onto the wheels for added traction. Apply technical petrolatum to all axis mounting points and small gears for smooth operation. This train works, but runs somewhat too fast and loudly. There is an issue with climbing Duplo bridges due to its long body length; this will be addressed in a future version. Space exists at the front of the train for two AA batteries. On April 15th, 2017, a motor gear was added with increased backlash - 0.55mm. The sources were included in train.scad on April 16th, 2017. Involute_gears.scad underwent modifications to correct circular_pitch. Print Settings: Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Infill: 15% Notes: Layer height 0.2mm, nozzle diameter 0.3mm
