I wasn't too fond of the available adjustable limit switch mounts. They required additional m2 screws, had limited adjustability, and used grub screws to hold them in place. Moreover, they lacked sturdiness and rigidity. To create a better solution, I combined elements from existing designs and added my own twist. Firstly, the switch holder caught my attention, especially Austingeorge's design. However, I didn't like its adjustable sliding mechanism, so I modified it to work with Goopyplastic's plunger/trigger instead. The resulting design features a slimmer, non-adjustable switch holder that screws into existing m2 screw holes. I found that Goopyplastic's trigger had one major drawback - it was too wobbly for my taste. To fix this issue, I upgraded the mounting system to #6 screws with two nuts: one captive at the top and another at the bottom. These changes transformed the mount into a solid, immovable piece of engineering. Using two #6 nuts and a matching screw provided an unbeatable combination of stability and strength. My go-to choice for this project was a 2-inch long 6-32 screw. The existing design used m3 holes to secure it to the frame - not my preferred option, but that's how I wanted it. Fortunately, users have the flexibility to choose between drilling into the frame or not; doing so would greatly enhance the mount's rigidity. Additionally, be prepared for the bottom nut to require a bit of extra effort due to its snug fit; by screwing in the attached #6 screw and tightening it fully, you'll achieve an optimal fit for both nuts. As for the captive nut, applying gentle downward pressure should push it into place.
