In ancient times, a fearsome creature stalked the waters of an earlier era. Dunkleosteus was its name - a behemoth unlike anything that ever dwelled beneath the ocean's waves. It stood as high as four metres, with scales up to eight centimetres long and weighed upwards of six hundred kilogrammes. What struck fear into those who beheld it, however, wasn't merely its size. Its true power came from its massive, saw-like teeth which served one purpose only - to destroy its prey, be it a slow fish or a fleeing crab, with crushing ferocity. When the great Dunkleosteus hunted, nothing was spared. Every last crumb dropped, and even shells, could expect no quarter as it took in each new mouthful without chewing it first. No wonder its name evoked fear in those who spoke of it. They were speaking not of some timid animal but a force that stood out against its own time - Dunkleosteus.
