[](https://go.ec3d.design/the-ignis-quadrant-ks) -------------------- ----------- DungeonSticks - a new modular dungeon design system that is fast and easy, designed to use with a gridded battle map! ----------- This is the first release in my new *DungeonSticks* modular dungeon system, which I designed as an easier alternative and option to full tile sets, with a low barrier to entry and an _ultra fast_ way to get a printed dungeon on your table. More on the DungeonSticks system below. #### First Set Release - DWARVEN HALLS This set allows you to construct dwarven halls, complete with various length wall sections, door options, pillars/columns, stairs, and risers. Check out the video below to see it in action. This dungeon set pairs great with my recently released OpenForge [Dwarven Throne](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2807694), and the other dwarven-themed items I will be releasing through OpenForge very soon. Note that the corner pieces with DutchMogul's remixed Dwarf statue are in a separate Thing, due to licensing restrictions. You can download it [HERE](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2914045). I found that, though I like tile sets, I often didn't have time/patience to build huge sets, and I enjoyed the flexility and old-school feel of using a gridded battle map/mat. I was inspired by the work of DevonJones, DutchMogul, Black Magic Craft, and DM Scotty. The name comes from the stick-like long wall sections you can toss down to make dungeon walls. The goals of this system are: - Faster and easier than complete tile sets to print, paint, and setup - Reusable, flexible, and combinable with very minimal teardown / setup - All pieces are designed to be printed best @ .16mm layer height, with 10% infill and no supports needed The walls are designed to side _outside_ the grid they are along, so in corners you have gaps. You can use "Magnetic Joining Block.stl" to shim the corners and link the walls together. #### Magnetized System DungeonSticks are designed to use optional sphere magnets inside the pieces to help hold their shape, add rigidity, and aid in quick setup and alignment. The pieces all print with holes for the magnets, when possible. They use 3mm sphere magnets. I started with cheap ones on amazon that worked ok, but neodymium is the best option. You can get a couple hundred of these for ~$10 on AliExpress, or find domestic options with faster shipping on Ebay. To use the magnets, first print a bunch of the "Magnet Plug.stl" plus out. These are small, so they print easiest on a raft and with 20-30 (or more) on the print bed. They are designed to a tight tolerance for the holes and are snap fit, so I suggest printing some test ones at 100% scale and test-fitting. If they are snug, scale down 5% and try again. Elephant's foot on the bottom of the print an cause a tight fit, you might need to do a quick scrape inside the hole with a craft knife. The plugs should snap-fit inside when scaled corretly (I dropped the magnets in, partially pushed hte plugs in, flipped the piece around on the table, then tapped the top until they snapped down). #### Printing Notes All pieces are designed to be printed best @ .16mm layer height, with 10% infill and no supports needed.
