Duet2 WiFi and Duex Case
thingiverse
When I started fitting my Duet WiFi to the chassis, I noticed three sets of pins at the bottom of the board that blocked the lower lip of the chassis. To save others from manually cutting slots with needle files, I added a file called "Chassis_Updated.stl" to the list of files. Additionally, the top of the chassis was 1.5mm wider than the slots in the case halves it fit into, so I shaved off 0.75mm from each side. I really appreciate the thinking behind this case design by Havoc340 and decided to make some changes and adapt it to suit my needs since I'm upgrading my printer and needed room for a Duex 5 as well. Firstly, I felt that there wasn't enough ventilation to allow heat from the front of the boards to escape, so I added intake slots on the lower front of each case half and exit slots at the top. Since I had to mount the case on the right-hand side of my printer, I mirrored the part to move the mounting holes over to the right. Also, I removed one cable hole from the rear and added two holes on either side for cable entry to match my existing cables better. Another thing I thought it needed was a Duet3D logo. I found a design by UncleManuel here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2815313 and used it to add a relief-style Duet3D logo on the front case. In my photos, I ended up painting the white part of the logo but have provided parts that you can glue in if your printer handles overhangs better than mine did. The color of the filament I used matches very well with the Duet3D logo's color. The only other change from the original design is that I converted the STL files from Barbarian Units to metric units.
