thingiverse
I crafted this mount to seamlessly integrate with both 15mm and 20mm extrusions, allowing any Kossel variant to utilize it efficiently. Unlike traditional mounts that attach to the Z tower, this one attaches directly to a lower base cross piece, maintaining its structural integrity while staying out of the way - a considerable advantage when transporting your printer to events. My experience with my Smoothie mount (shared on Thingiverse) mounted on the back tower of my Mini Kossel taught me a valuable lesson: having essential components within easy reach is vital for optimal performance. The Instructions Print with 3 perimeters and 2-3 shells, and infill your parts with a reliable 33% in PLA. The designed holes are intended to accommodate 3mm screws, which I used to create matching t-nuts that seamlessly integrate with the 6mm wide slots in standard 2020 materials - it works remarkably well. Additional support for stability is provided by carefully positioned ribs within the frame, effectively stiffening its overall structure. Before you begin assembling the mount, be sure to have four standoffs ready, either by printing them or sourcing suitable replacements (I recommend a sturdy 8mm OD x 4mm tall model). Ensure that the Duet is securely fastened with M3 x 10 self-tapping screws and an additional washer underneath the screw head for optimal stability. Given my impending commission of my Kossel 250, I plan to further refine this design - however, it has already proven itself to be incredibly effective in real-world applications.
