Duet 2 Maestro Case (3030, 2020) Duet Maestro
cults3d
Enclosure for a Duet 2 Maestro that fits either a 3030 or 2020 profile extrusion, or without mounting hardware so you can do as you please. This enclosure has a good standoff distance from the bottom, along with vents located on the base and top and bottom walls to allow excellent convective airflow over the back of the controller (where the board is sinking heat). This way it should be possible to enclose the Maestro without needing fans in most cases. I tested this setup with 1400mA for X and Y, and 800mA on Z, E, and E2 without fans. The MCU temperature reads 40C with no overheat warnings after a 24 hour print. Keep wiring neat inside the case though as excess could restrict some of the airflow. You'll need 4x M3 bolts to secure the controller to the base, and 4x M3 bolts for the lid. If you're printing the 3030 or 2020 version, you'll want supports below the tabs only. Use support touching build plate only, and set support horizontal expansion to 0mm or Cura is going to add a messy wall along the perimeter. Update 2018-08-31: Adding a bit more clearance between the mounts and the body Added a cable port on the mount side (near the power port) Rounded out the cable ports a bit Update 2018-09-01: Adding larger vents to the base, to increase airflow Adding a lid with cutouts for 12864 ribbon cables Update 2018-09-02: Fixing cutout sizing for 12864 lid Fixing placement of holes on the lids (to match the body) Update 2019-04-23: Added a lid with cutouts for paneldue with external SD card
