Ducted Fan Upgrade for Geeetech Rostock G2S This modification boosts the cooling performance of the Geeetech Rostock G2S 3D printer. The printable parts assemble to create a ducted fan housing and nozzle for the carriage-mounted cooling fan. The standard factory-mounted fan tends to blow a weak stream of air in the general direction of the printed object, whereas improved print results can often be achieved by cooling the freshly printed hot filament as soon as it is extruded. This modification encloses the standard 30mm fan in a box and then directs the airflow through a tube and a flat duct near the print head. This has been proven to significantly enhance printing quality when working with small areas where the printing time per layer is extremely short. The enclosure has been designed to securely hold the fan without needing any mounting bolts. The enclosure and duct fit onto the original Geeetech G2S carriage, utilizing the same mounting hardware supplied with the printer. The fan nozzle is a separate small part that can be quickly and affordably re-printed if it becomes damaged. There is a lid for the fan enclosure designed to be a tight press fit, and it features cable entry slots for the fan.
