The Ohlins sub-assembly featured on S-models (2009-2011) was meticulously crafted from actual part measurements for accurate interfaces. As a standalone component, it requires separate entry of the cylinder and piston bodies in the main assembly, with the cylinder attached to the rear swing arm and the piston connected to the frame (and spring). The main unit is controlled by sag, although flexible parts may not always adhere to this in 3D-CAD. Here, the cylinder has a zero-sag measurement of 295 mm, with a 130 N/mm spring stiffness and 172 mm free length (preloaded by 10 mm). The assembly weighs approximately 2.6 kg.
