I now proudly present to you my self-designed double tape dispenser/glue stick holder/tape auto!\n(Don't mind what you call it...) \nDuring the design classes, we had to draw two different glue stick holders in just 5 minutes. And one of them was this simple design for a single roll.\nWhen I started drawing it in SpaceClaim, I realized that if I made it a bit wider, two rolls would fit and it could be used on both sides!\nI have no idea if it already exists, but it's my design nonetheless! \nBefore we printed it out, we had to make a model. That could be out of clay, cardboard or whatever other material.\nI chose cardboard. \nAfter 3 hours of drawing, calculating, cutting and gluing I had made from cardboard my very own glue stick holder on actual size! (See collage 2) \nBut it also had to be printed out and last weekend was the first time I got to use my 3D printer at home and I finally managed to print it out!\nUnfortunately, there aren't good cutting edges on it because they had to be modelled, so it's more of a decorative object than a functional product.\nFurther, if it were to be functional it would have to be reinforced. \nI considered filling it with sand while printing but ended up not doing it since it was meant for decoration anyway.\nThe cardboard version works much better because I took out the cutting edges from two very cheap glue stick holders and put them in so that one works! \nBut I personally think this design is fantastic and if it were executed well, it would be usable too!\nYou can fit 2 rolls of tape in it, for example 1 roll of writing tape and 1 roll of transparent tape.
