The circle is to allow for flexibility and for placing nail for hanging. The sticks are for stretching the canvas paper at exactly a 45 degree angle. The hole on the sticks is for inserting a 7/16" long upholstery tack. The role of the connector is obviously to insert to connect both frame pieces. This is for printing on a belt printer.
