This DualDrive Extruder is designed as a direct drive system with V6 hotend. The Tronxy X5S' original metal X carriage is retained for a rigid hotend installation. A 6mm hole must be drilled in the stepper axle when using direct drive installation. For extrusion, a 22mm 'pancake' nima17 stepper motor is required. The unit is optimized for a 4020 radial blower to provide equal 360-degree cooling. Many parts feature an insulation wall to aid printing ABS with open printers. Printing ABS or other stiff higher temperature filaments requires a raft to prevent warping. Reducing the printable wall width below 0.39mm can help print without walls. This setup moves the hotend nozzle 15mm forward, so the bed should be moved 15mm in the -Y direction to maintain a 330mm printing area. The nozzle also runs 15mm higher, allowing ZMax to be set at 415mm for increased maximum print size. Update: The fan shroud has been streamlined and made 1mm thinner. To achieve full printing space, moving the board is a relatively easy task. A drilling jig can be used to drill 4mm holes in the front of the existing holes, placing it on the other end with the Z-rail screw. The bed wire holder also needs to be extended, and the https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3951448 design can be referenced for assistance. Marlin 2.0.0 config-files for MKS Sbase have been added, as well as 'firmware.bin' for those who prefer not to compile it themselves. Place firmware.bin on a microSD card and restart the printer.
