Dual Ulysse Clock Remix
thingiverse
This is a remix of the 12 Tooth Dual Ulysse Escapement, as well as several components of the clock itself. My list of problems I encountered and their solutions are as follows: * The pallets were not engaging the escapement wheels properly and slipping; therefore, I increased the length of the bottom and sides of the pallets slightly. * The gravity ratchet was slipping and caused the main weight to crash to the floor; thus, I switched to a bending plastic ratchet that more firmly engages the ratchet and added a holder for the crank at the end. * The hexagonal hole in the crank was a bit too large for the hexagonal peg, which prevented it from engaging when trying to wind the clock; consequently, I switched to a square shape to make it harder for the peg to slip completely even when loose. * The 12 tooth escapement wheels were accidentally posted in reverse in the original remix; hence, I simply mirrored each wheel and resaved them. * The secondwheel-esc2-clock20.stl gear was too large to fit inside the bottom frame without hitting the support post of the gear below it; therefore, I carved a little off of the bottom frame support post to make room for the gear. (You could just skip printing this if you have already printed it and simply file the support down instead) * No main weight container was provided; thus, the necessary ~2lbs of weight can be obtained by filling the Penny Weight with about $4 of US pennies.
