Dual turntable steuer-pimpel autoplay repair
thingiverse
A small but vital repair part for Dual brand turntables is being tested in my Dual 1237, and it's likely to work on many other 12xx models, possibly even some 10xx models as well. Automatic start or stop issues arise when the tone arm lifts up, but fails to move horizontally - or simply doesn't move far enough horizontally. The diagnosis reveals a small plastic cup, known as "steuer-pimpel," provides essential contact and friction for moving the tone arm horizontally. This part can wear out or disintegrate over time. To fix this problem, print a tiny replacement cup and place it over the metal pole, restoring vital contact between these two parts. For better understanding of the steuerpimpel's function, watch the first two minutes of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMYZRTrd-xA. Accessing the underside of the turntable is not straightforward and may vary by model. Check details on how to lift the top off by wiggling the transport screws here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apWzWqjMARQ&feature=youtu.be&t=196.
