Dual stage axial fan
thingiverse
Human: 3D printed dual stage axial fan. This design originated as an airbrush booth fume extractor, but its excessive noise makes it unsuitable for that purpose.\r\n\r\nWARNING: THIS DEVICE IS NOT A TOY! OPERATORS ASSUME ALL RISK OF DAMAGE OR INJURY WHEN USING IT.\r\nIt's engineered to spin at over 20000rpm and possesses enough kinetic energy at full speed to inflict serious harm. Take all necessary safety precautions when operating it, including but not limited to the following;\r\n- Wear personal protective gear, such as safety glasses and earplugs, during operation.\r\n- Avoid using brittle materials like PLA. Opt for PETG or ABS instead. Ensure the yield stress of the filament used is at least 25MPa.\r\n- Do not alter printing orientation for rotating components.\r\n- Verify that your printer is properly calibrated and printed parts are solid. For rotating parts, use at least 4 perimeters and 25% infill; for other components, use 2 perimeters and 15% infill.\r\n- Ensure assembly is securely fastened and the shaft is balanced before reaching full speed. Secure rotor blades to the shaft with epoxy glue during assembly.\r\n- Continuously monitor vibration levels. Always perform slow-speed runs before increasing speed to maximum.\r\n- If using a steel bearing, limit operation to short intervals and regularly disassemble the compressor stage to inspect for thermal damage to the shaft and bearing housings.\r\n- Use only open or shielded bearings. Sealed bearings may cause heat generated by the seal to melt the shaft or housing.\r\n- Do not exceed maximum rotating speed. The optimal speed depends on material and print settings, which should be calculated or experimentally determined beforehand for each unit.\r\n\r\nTest run videos:\r\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRQPLZ2gk0I\r\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ozb7maTPjQ
